世界大賽第三戰的結局，第一時間你看清楚了嗎？其實很多球員，也搞不清楚怎麼回事，就跟著隊友衝出去了。

「我根本沒看到Salty傳球，」紅雀隊投手Adam Wainwright說，「我看到Dustin Pedroia的美技，在本壘板前擋住Yadier Molina之後，我以為這個play結束了，於是轉過頭去。突然間，所有隊友都衝出去，我其實不知道發生了什麼，但也跟著衝上場。」

「我跑到一半的時候，看到Allen Craig在本壘前好幾步，就被觸殺，所以我停下來，準備往回走。但主審判了Safe，我心想，這真是史上最糟糕的本壘前誤判。」

紅雀隊不知道怎麼回事地贏球，紅襪隊那邊更是輸得一頭霧水。

「原本大家都在歡呼，我們逃過一劫，還有第10局可打，我們有機會了，」紅襪隊投手Jon Lester說，「但主審比出Safe手勢，嚇到我們了，我們要他解釋怎麼回事。到現在我還是不完全明白規則怎麼說，也許很多人都跟我一樣，但結局就是這樣。我們不該再回頭去討論那個play，該準備下一戰。」

紅襪隊的疑惑、甚至是不滿，Wainwright感同身受。「身為紅雀隊一員，有這種規則對我們很幸運，」Wainwright說，「但我可以完全明瞭紅襪隊員的不滿，因為這種規則輸掉比賽、尤其是在Pedroia的美技之後還這樣輸球，真的糟糕。」

Lester則說，紅襪隊會站起來。

「我想，我們很多人都嚇到了，也很疑惑，各種情緒湧上心頭，但無力改變結局。所以我們該向前看，要是我們下一戰還是被那件事影響，我們已經輸了。」
